Challenge Your Game!
Take advantage of establishing a handicap. A handicap is a great way to see where your game is and challenge yourself every time you tee it up. For example if you have a handicap index of 8.2, find the handicap equivalency sheet and see what how many strokes you get at the course you are playing that day.
You can apply this two ways. First way, would be to add that on the top of the par. In saying that, here at Cameron Golf Club a 8.2 plays to a 9 handicap so the par for the day will be 81. The other way would be to take those 9 shots and apply one to the 9 hardest holes. That would mean, number 6 at Cameron Golf Club which is the hardest hole on the course would now be a par 6 instead of a par 5. You would then do this for the next 8 hardest holes.
This is only effective if you keep your handicap up to date. So take advantage of this by turning in your scores every time that you play to get the most accurate handicap.
(Note: This service is available for a fee of $25 per golfer, per season.)
